The best pools on the Las Vegas Strip!

When I book a hotel in Las Vegas, the hotel pool is a major factor in my decision. Although I spend more time in the hot tub than the pool, an attractive, interesting, unique pool area is a huge draw for me.

Below are my choices for the top ten hotel pools on the Las Vegas Strip. In creating this list, I only considered the following hotels (in alphabetical order): Aria Resort & Casino Las Vegas, Bellagio Las Vegas, Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, Four Seasons Las Vegas, Luxor Hotel & Casino, Mandalay Bay, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Monte Carlo Las Vegas Resort and Casino, Paris Las Vegas, Vdara Hotel & Spa, and The Venetian Las Vegas.

Note that the pool hours in Las Vegas are likely shorter than you'd expect and that, especially in the winter, the pool area may be closed for refurbishment or for the winter season. If using the pool is important to you, check the hotel's official website and then call the hotel directly to confirm that the pool will be open and heated before booking your stay.

All of the photos below were taken in February 2013 (unless otherwise noted) and every photo was taken by me.

Jen (California, USA)

#1: Caesars Palace Las Vegas

Caesars Palace's Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis easily won the top spot on my list. It reminds my friend and me of Hearst Castle's famous Neptune Pool. Ordinarily, visitors can't swim in the pools at Hearst Castle. Swimming in Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis at Caesars Palace might be the next best thing.

#2: Bellagio Las Vegas

The beautiful pool area looks like it's set in an upscale Mediterranean village. There's a little café in the pool area as well.
#3: Paris Las Vegas

Both the pool and the hot tubs sit in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Now that's a pool experience that you can't get just anywhere.

#4: MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

The pool area is attractive with a bit of a Hollywood theme and plenty of palm trees, but what put this hotel pool up a few notches for me was an elaborate, landscaped lazy river.

# 5: Luxor Hotel & Casino

The pool area sits at the base of the pyramid and has some nice Egyptian theming and water features.

*As you can see, the pool area was undergoing renovation during my visit in February 2013.
#6: The Venetian Las Vegas

This pool area earns bonus points in my book for a hot tub that's the size of a small swimming pool!

*Note that this photo, of a portion of the Venetian's hot tub, was taken in December 2001. A security guard refused to allow me to visit the pool in February 2013.

#7: Four Seasons Las Vegas

The landscaping and surroundings made this feel like a pool at a private mansion.

*At the time of this posting, guests of the Four Seasons Las Vegas may use the Mandalay Bay pool area as well.

#8: Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas

This upscale pool area with its sleek, skinny lap pools and hot tubs offers a view of the New York - New York skyline.
#9: Aria Resort & Casino Las Vegas

The pool area is attractive, upscale, well-landscaped and clean and you can look up at the futuristic-looking Aria hotel. My favorite feature was a lake-shaped hot tub.

#10: Mandalay Bay

This pool area packs a bunch of offerings into its space. There's a nice-sized wave pool, a tiny lazy river, a few regular pools and hot tubs, and even a small beach.

*As you can see, the pool area was undergoing renovation during my visit in February 2013. This photo was taken from a neighboring building.

Other hotel pools on the Las Vegas Strip:

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Their Bamboo Pool is clean, classy, and upscale.

*The hotel offers two additional pool areas that were closed during my February 2013 visit. In addition to the Bamboo Pool (photo to the left), I took a look at the Boulevard Pool which was undergoing renovations. I liked the Bamboo Pool better.
Monte Carlo Las Vegas Resort and Casino

Like Mandalay Bay, the Monte Carlo packs a bunch of attractions into its pool area. There's a tiny lazy river, hot tubs, pools, and a sand volleyball court.

*This photo was taken from a tram station platform.
Vdara Hotel & Spa

A clean, classy, upscale pool area.
